What to Pack
Plan for sunshine! Shorts and sandals are considered the "island uniform." Pack a hat to shade your face and head, swimsuits, t-shirts and sunscreen a "must". Winters are mild on Sanibel (average daytime temperatures range in the 70s and 80s) and dry. Slacks and light sweaters for dining out and sweatshirts for the beach is great evening attire. Summer temperatures, range in the 80's to low 90's with brief afternoon showers, followed by more sunshine and magnificent sunsets. Casual dining attire is accepted at the many island restaurants (shirts and shoes required). Fail to pack something? You'll find most anything you need (and few things that you just can't do without) at The Seahorse Shops, just a short walk from Sea Winds Cottage.
